My Giveaway And Pre-Weigh In Jitters

I've gone for a walk today, eaten the way I'm supposed to (except for white rice but when you eat rice like once a month or less I think it's ok...especially when you hate brown rice) and I really feel like I haven't lost anything this week. I've been a little *eh-hem* backed up this week and I just feel very heavy. I'm placing my trust in a big cup of herbal-lax tea and praying to the weight loss gods it works! I always come off as a very confident, happy, and humorous person but I am not all that confident in real life and my humour is a defense mechanism I have gained out of necessity. I am pretty happy though. I truly do have an awesome life and a man that loves me and a little family that means the world to me. I have a great career that challenges me every day and even though geriatric nursing isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life, I love my residents and would do anything to ensure they smile (and yes that sometimes includes letting them give you a sloppy, dentureless smooch on the cheek). Anyways, the whole point of that ramble is that I'm so nervous about not losing this week. I've only been at this for about a month and a half and I don't know if I can pick myself up if I don't see a loss on that scale tomorrow. I'm soooo close to being in the 200s that I can taste it and I just want to see that tomorrow so badly. *sigh* oi vey...

Ok, on to a happier note. I've decided that once I hit 75 followers I will do my giveaway sooooo that being said you all have to help me and get me to 75 followers...only 21 more to go! So make sure you all mention my blog in one of your next blog posts and let them know that I am doing a give away and they have to be a regular follower of my blog to enter! I also would appreciate some suggestions on what I could put in my "lifestyle changing gift pack" I want it to total about $30-40 and be full of positive things that will help in your quest to changing your lifestyle...Sounds great huh!?

Anyways I'm off to finish drinking this kinda yucky (but hopefully effective) tea. Wish me luuuuck! Looooves!

  2. Talk about it! haha that is nuts does your mom live in Nelson too? because Sher has talked about her before - all good things haha and she has probably talked about you before too. Unfortunately for me Morgan is super antisocial and doesn't even remember kids he went to high school with so he is clueless lol

  3. Please remember that it's not a straight road. There will be some weeks you don't lose and some weeks you lose more than others. Though it's so tempting, we can't base our progress on numbers. Your doing great things, changing habits, and living healthier. The numbers will follow in time.

On the other hand, if you do lose or stay the same, do your happy dance that those numbers surprise us sometimes. I'm wishing the best for you

  4. You have been doing so awesomely that you should not let a disappointing weigh in derail you and get you down. If I did that, I would have quit LONG ago! LOL. You are doing all of the right things to get you where you want to be, but just remember that this isn't a direct shot from point A to point B - there can be some pauses in between - but that doesn't mean you give up. It's all just a part of the process!

  5. There will be weeks you don't lose. Look on my weigh in page. You will see that I went from 30# (something) to 299 one week and vowed I would never be over 300 again and the next week I was 306. I was upset, but life got the best of me that week. It happens. This week I stayed the same exact weight, but I can feel the differences in my energy and I feel lighter. It's not always about pounds. You can't possibly lose every week, in a perfect world we could - but bodies are crazy things and this whole process can sometimes be a mind F*ck. Don't be discouraged no matter what the results are, look at your tracking and what happened this week and learn from it - no matter what the scale says.

  6. Love this idea, and I'm crossing my fingers for you!!! Colon Gods, get to work!

In my change of life pack I'd do:

    Yoga DVD (15 minute one)
Maybe a water bottle and/or pedometer?
    Measuring tape!? LMFAO

  7. I'm always feeling blocked on the weigh in day, so I know how that feels (ugh). As for the weigh in, don't stress about it, sometimes your body will just decide to hold onto the weight for some reason. You are working hard, it'll come off!

  8. I totally understand. I was SURE I was going to be in ONEDERLAND by the end of this month. Well, I've lost 2.0lbs in three weeks, and this week isn't looking too promising either. (My scale reported another 1lb lost, but we'll see what WW says.)

It's hard, because this is mostly a numbers game. And blah blah blah muscle weighs more than fat. Yeah, but let's face it -- WE ALL WANT TO SEE THAT NUMBER GO DOWN!

Just remember though...eventually...the efforts do pay off. Giving up will only get you back to where you were before.

  10. You will be there before you know it. Don't let the scale dictate your happiness overall! If you see a number you don't like just recall the steps that put you there and look forward to taking steps in a new direction to keep moving forward.

    In other news - You're a winner!
