Sad News

I went to Zumba tonight...only to find out that there were only 2 more classes left until further notice: today's and Thursday's. This makes me really sad. Zumba was my one escape from my treadmill...and now it's going to be gone. I dunno what I'm gonna do. I guess the silver lining is that at least my wallet won't suffer anymore. $7.20 for a Zumba class is kind of insane when you have a treadmill you can use for free in your basement. That is until the snow goes away and I can go outside again. I love being outside but I do not like the cold and the ice and the snow. I need to figure out a way I can have my house, my job, my family but live in a place where there's no such thing as the fluffy white stuff.

This is going to be a short post as I can't seem to think of anything to write about on this sad day.

  1. This is bad news :( i'm sure you'll find something to replace it - i know you can get loads of zumba routines online. And it won't be long before spring comes and we can all be outside again :))

  2. Aw, so sorry Taryn. Do you guys happen to own a Wii or any gaming system? I enjoy Zumba on Wii (but will only do it when the hubby isn't home...I feel goofy when he watches me, as opposed to doing it with a group where we all look goofy)

    1. That is something to look into as I do own a Wii...I'd have to find a spot to hook it up where I'm not infront of a huge picture window hahaha

  3. Yuck, that sucks. I hope they start zumba up again soon for you. It's been an odd winter here in Toronto, the last snowfall didn't even last 12 hours... Anyhow, spring will be here soon.

  4. It's so popular, there should be other places to go....Besides the other ideas already offered, there are DVD's you can get. Maybe you could invite some Friends or neighbors over and make it a real class. Would be fun!!

    Keep focused!

    1. Unfortunately, Joy, I live in a very small town so there actually isn't anywhere else to go. I'd have to go the next town over which just isn't in the budget.

  5. Sad news about Zumba. Did you ever think about becoming an instructor for it? You could make money AND get fit. A win win to me. ORRRR I suggest looking online for the Zumba dvd's. I did mine at home and you get so many routines, it is fun and you dont really get bored.

    1. Funny you say that because I actually DID look into becomming an instructor...There is a course close to here, while I'm on holidays that still has room...but I don't have the $$ to do it...and because I work shift work on an 8 day rotation due to being a nurse, I can't commit to "every Thursday at 5:10" so I likely wouldn't be picked up by the fitness center to instruct...soooo...perhaps when I'm a little more fit myself, and find a job that would allow me to instruct it...

    2. It is a good goal for the future...I have the wii zumba game and the dvds. I definitely recommend the dvds. Who doesnt like dancing with Beto? He makes me laugh!

  6. Oh no! That is a bummer! I know this won't sound as fun as dance class, but it might help break up the boring treadmill work outs. I don't know what you guys have for indoor running there, but here we have a (very small) indoor running track that is free for people to use. A friend and I would go to the track and bring some 5lb free weights with us, and then we would run 2 laps (which took under 2 mins because it was so small), and do a minute of either weights or abs, and then repeat (always doing a different thing for the 1 minute). It was such a good workout, but it was fun because we could visit with each other, and it wasn't repetitive.

  7. Sucks about the classes ending! Maybe buy some Zumba DVDs?

  8. That sucks about Zumba :( I love it. I'm very grateful my gym offers so many free classes including Zumba 3 times a week. I'd be sad if it stopped. You can find amazing deals on zumba dvds on amazon.com. I know it's not as fun as the classes but it is still fun in a different way and still a great exercise!
